SOUTH AFRICA IN LOCKDOWN

The measures put in by the president last night were by far the most serious we have seen in in our country in a long time. Cyril Ramaphose was decisive and clear on these measures and we as South Africans can be proud of our president and his decisions.

As we see a lockdown come into force from midnight 26 April 2020 we as businesses have to take drastic immediate and urgent actions today. These actions will determine if we survive this period in our economy. We have to understand that these measures were put into place to protect our society and livelihood in the long run. Positivity is now so important for business leaders as society looks to us for answers.

It is important to print out and read and understand all these measures as well as the interventions put in place to cushion the impact on the economy. If we as business owners and leaders can benefit from these we have to make sure we are on the forefront of applying for them so we can get some relief. This cannot be expressed more seriously. The impact is going to be bigger than we have ever seen or experienced. Our resolve, our resourcefulness and our unity will be tested as never before.
These three weeks of lockdown must be used to constantly communicate with our staff, so they understand the seriousness of the situation. Everyday we must put into plan measures so that when this is over we are ready from day one to be ahead.
