A key part of being a successful businessperson is networking and engaging with people about your business' unique product or service offering. It is therefore very important to craft a compelling elevator pitch that grabs attention and properly explains with your value proposition.

Here is a quick guide.

1. Attention Grabber:

  • Start with a hook that piques interest, like a relevant statistic, question, or intriguing statement related to your field or the other person's industry.

Example: "Did you know that 70% of new business comes from referrals?"

2. Briefly Introduce Yourself:

  • State your name and title in a clear and concise manner.

Example: "I'm [Your Name], a [Your Title] at [Your Company]."

3. Explain Your Value Proposition:

  • Highlight what you do and the value you offer in a way that resonates with the listener.

Example: "I help businesses like yours [achieve specific benefit] by [mention your key service or expertise]."

4. Call to Action:

  • End with a clear call to action, such as inviting them to connect on LinkedIn, schedule a call, or learn more about your services.

Example: "I'd love to connect on LinkedIn and learn more about your work."

Tips:

  • Keep it concise: Aim for 30-60 seconds.
  • Practice and refine: Speak naturally and confidently.
  • Tailor your pitch: Adapt it to each conversation and the other person's interests.
  • Focus on benefits, not features: Explain how your work helps others.
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate: Show your genuine interest in what you do.

By filling in this template and practicing your delivery, you can craft a compelling elevator pitch that leaves a lasting impression.
